What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an approach to healing in which the hands are used to correct reduced mobility in bodily structures.
The body has a self-healing power. For example, if you have a cold, the flu, or break an arm, the body’s self-healing power ensures that you get better.
This also works with other complaints and disorders. Osteopathy can be a help in this.
Everything in the body requires a degree of movement in order to function. If an organ or joint is unable to move, it can’t function properly.
Example: you are having problems with your knee and you can’t bend it properly. You can walk, but not very well. After a while you will also have problems with your hip(s) and back etc.
Example: you are having problems with your intestine (peristalsis) and become constipated. If it continues for a period of time, you can get stomach pain, back pain, headache, tiredness, irritation, etc. Often you have no idea where the symptoms come from and you take no action.
A disruption in movement can thus cause a chain reaction. One comes from the other. This means that the complaint you are suffering from possibly stems from a completely different region.
Osteopathy restores movement so that all chains can remain functioning properly.
