Examination and treatment
Osteopathic examination:
To obtain the best possible insight, I ask all my patients to fill in an intake form and bring it along for the first appointment. You can download this form on my website. If that doesn't work, you can contact the practice and the form will be sent to you. During the first consultation the form is discussed and the trouble reviewed.
This is followed by an extensive examination. The examination leads us to the core of the complaint. The central question here is why can’t the body solve the complaint itself? In other words, what is hindering the healing process or why is the body compensating the way it does? Then treatment can begin.
Osteopathic treatment:
Treatment is directed at solving the underlying problem. The self-healing power of the body is hereby restored. The treatment reactivates the body. After treatment, the body requires time to restore the balance (self-healing power). For this reason, your appointments will in most cases be far less frequent than, for example, for a physiotherapist.
If necessary, the osteopath will give advice on what you should do at home.
